Living in an underwater community is what Mason has grown accustomed to. Throughout the years, he has become the rightful ruler of this beautiful land. The community has all he could ever ask for; water, food, houses, artificial sunlight, and even fields of fake grass. But all is about to change when two people from the future arrive to tell him that their community is no longer the safe place Mason had always known. And now, it is up to him to save his home or he may never see it again.

The surviving humans can only live underwater, and only the hybrid humans live on the ocean's surface with man-made islands. The rest of the journey is the story of how the world came to be, foretold by an elite soldier from the Underwater City to the Duck Hunters.
