Sequel to Friends. Charlotte Jones was hopeless in love, that much was evident. She'd hoped that by ending all ties to the two people she'd only truly cared about but had hurt her repeatedly, that it would all go away- her feelings for them, her pain, her hope that something might eventuate. But it hadn't, she was stronger now, happier even but even though she'd tried everything to get over them, nothing seemed to work. After receiving a letter from her Grandmother, Charlotte quits her job, deciding to take a year off from her career and do a bit of soul-searching, a list her Grandmother provided was the only structure she had for the year. A list of 50 rather unorthodox things that she was to complete in her year off. The first and most difficult, Be single for a year. Will Charlotte's quest for a whole heart and a happy life be easy? Probably not. But will it be fun? Definitely.

I cupped her face in my hands, rubbing my thumbs in circles over her cheeks. She was having trouble finding words to describe what she felt, and I could relate. I loved her more than words could describe and telling her I loved her was almost an insult to my true feelings for her. My heart ached at just the thought of her not being with me. I honestly don't know what I would have done with myself if I had never went to that stupid party and met her. But, I have a feeling, we would have found each other, eventually. This love's too strong to ignore forever. Both of us had pieces of us missing, that neither of us were aware of until we met. We were like two puzzle pieces that finally connected. "I love you," I whispered, leaning my forehead against hers. "I love you more," she replied in a small whisper, her hand reaching up to caress my cheek while the other rested on my thigh. I shook my head, annoyed and charmed by the audacity she had to think that she could possibly love me more. "I love you most," I persisted, causing her head to moved away from mine as she looked into my eyes. "Always?" She questioned, her eyes unreadable for a moment before a flash of fear passed through. "Forever," I assured her and meaning it. We could live an entire lifetime or for eternity, and my love for her would never fade. It would only grow. There was nothing in this world that would ever change the way I loved her. My, Katarina.

You know when people say it's okay to make mistakes? That it's only human? That rule doesn't apply to Charlotte McVerry. Every mistake she makes defines her life. Every wrong step gets criticized and plastered across dozens of magazines. You know how everyone is born into the world for a purpose? Charlotte believes that her existence doesn't have a purpose. Her parents could care less about her and she felt as if her life was controlled. She was only a puppet on a string, around for solely the use of her parents. Charlotte used to want to become a professional photographer and leave her life behind. She wanted to travel the world, not including the occasional business trips her parents took her on. But most of all, she wanted to experience love. She wanted to know how it felt to be cared about so much. She wanted someone to hold her and hug her and someone to kiss her. It didn't take long for Charlotte's opinion of love to change. In her mind, love became a cruel, heart-wrenching feeling that only brought tears. After falling for Louis Tomlinson of One Direction, her mind convinced her that she was wrong about love after all. That it wasn't all about hugs and kisses. That falling in love was a mistake. What Charlotte doesn't know is that every mistake serves a purpose.
