"Bitterness is unbecoming of a woman, but I cherish mine like the memory of first love. I see nothing in Leon Wagner, but an automaton. He is a machine of the Third Reich. I am surprised he even bleeds."

In the summer of 1945, the world rejoices at the surrender of first Germany then Japan, but healing is a long time coming. Though they are not visible, Ruth Tucker's wounds run deep. Having worked as a nurse for the American Red Cross since the invasion of Normandy, Ruth's hatred for her country's former enemy runs deep. While stationed in Zell am See, Austria, she is assigned to nurse in a German POW camp. She meets a young Wehrmacht soldier, Leon Wagner, who speaks English and strives to spark a friendship with her. But Ruth's bitterness is almost too strong. All she sees in Leon is a heartless machine. Slowly, through a shared love of books and their families, she begins to recognize his humanity and starts to feel her own stir in her heart, something she thought long deadened by the months of violence.

The Golden Soldier (Call of Duty: WW2 Fanfiction) by brontideandsough
50 parts Complete Mature
Avaline Baker is a young woman on a camping trip with friends when she decides to go into a museum that will change her life forever. Somehow transported into the future, Ava finds herself at the barrel tip of Nazi German soldier. Transported to their camp as prisoner, Ava is lost and confused as to what, where, and who she is with...the how part is the most antagonizing. Shortly after being saved by two American men, Ava discovers she's been placed at the center of World War Two. Surrounded by warfare and American men who have strict mindsets about women in the the 1940's, the 21-year-old feels like she has no hope of surviving. To even have a chance, Ava has to prove that just because she's a woman, doesn't mean she isn't capable of fighting to survive like the rest of them. Ava finds herself stuck in 1944, with "strange" technology called a cell phone, no way of charging it, and no way of getting home. In the midst of a gruesome and horrifying war, she finds herself questioning more than just sanity of the time period, but even her own. Hopefully, with careful and calculating steps, Ava will survive the blistering cold winters, the first-hand experience of a war, and developing a difficult bond with the men of 1st Platoon. --•--•--•-- This is a work of fan-fiction, which means I don't own practically anything. Except for Aveline Baker and some scenes. Will be based off of/follow the campaign. This work has content pertaining to difficult aspects of WW2 including blood and gore; swearing/harsh language; sexual/crude comments and actions; German POW camps; etc. Please DO NOT READ if you aren't comfortable or have too strong opinions on things related to WW2. It's a fictional story and, thus, should be treated like it. On flip side, there will humor. Especially from Zussman- we all like him. And don't forget moments from hardass Pierson...those will get interesting too. ;) ~Started on September 1st, 2018~ ~Finished September 1st, 2019~
Erika- A War torn Love by KellyAlmandChinn
19 parts Complete Mature
Erika is thrown into a war she never asked to be part of nor agrees with. She lives in a family who have already suffered the loss of a mother, a step-mother and now face the loss of land and further life due to war. She is curious, which leads her to see unspeakable events. In the woods she begins to see the true horrors of the war, witnessing the murdering of Jews, and the rounding up of communities. Her best friend is caught and raped by the soldiers which leads her to exact revenge on those responsible. From this day she helps the British and resistance troops in any way she can, leaving food, providing safe passage through the woods and town and helping Jews out of the area. In doing this she meets an English soldier whom she falls in love with. The war however forces them to be parted. As Erika comes of age she joins the Werhmacht. She tries to continue in her efforts not to support the war, but finds this increasingly difficult when she meets a German soldier who sweeps her off her feet. This makes her monetarily question what she has done and is doing. She thinks that she falls in love with him, until he becomes aware of her efforts against the war. Following her failed relationship, she learns her brother has been killed and returns home to relay the news to her father. The war soon ends after this and life begins to return to normal, she goes to a dance and meets Eric again and realises he truly is the one she loves. This book was inspired by stories told to me as a child by my Grandmother, Erika. She died before this book was written, therefore much of the filling information making this into a story is fictional, however the essence of her, the stories she told and the life she lived are the soul of the book.
