I ran as fast as my legs could carry me; I could practically feel myself slowing down, but I knew I had to pick up the pace. It felt like I had been going on an endless trek through this damned forest for so long. Branches struck me in the face as the wind whipped my lavender-colored hair around. Very little sunlight peeked through the canopy that lingered above, the giants towering, making me feel small compared to their intimidating size. Leaves broke off and fell to the ground, which were only trampled beneath my boots. Everywhere I cast my gaze, it all looked the same; I had begun to think that I was traveling in a circle. I continued to press on, even though my legs felt very weak - I thought they were going to buckle and give out underneath me. I could not allow them to, because if my body failed, I knew that I would be mercilessly torn to shreds and devoured by the hungry maws of the Mietoccu. My heart was pounding against my ribcage; so hard that I could feel the force of the beat within my ears. My breath came in short, ragged gasps; I thought my lungs were going to burst. My body was screaming at me to stop, but how could I when I could hear them drawing near? Why would I when I could clearly hear the echo of their relentless footsteps coming closer? Why would I stop when I knew they were going to belabor me? When they were going to seize me, hold me in their iron grip, and tear me apart? They had done it to my father all of those years ago; I had watched the scene with my own two eyes - it was terrifying. They knew who he was. They knew what he was, or what he used to be. And, now, they know who I am. They know what I am. They know what powers I possess. They know where I am. They grew much more hostile, and dangerous over the years. They craved the sweet, metallic taste of blood. They desired to rip, tear, and chomp away at the soft, delicate meat that clung to our bones. Over that time, they had found a new victim . . . Me.

After a fierce battle, he claimed my kingdom-and my fate. I am bound by duty to my people, but it is a duty that demands the greatest sacrifice. To save my kingdom, I must marry the man who conquered it. One bound by the crown, the other by my heart. When the king of Suryagarh attacked our kingdom, he did not just conquer our lands-he shattered countless lives. Thousands of widows, children left without fathers, and girls who were only beginning to understand the world. The loss was beyond words. And yet, to save them, I had no choice but to throw myself into the flames of my own sacrifice. I sent the king a marriage proposal through my father. My father was always against it and he must have hidden the truth about me from him. I don't know what he said, but I couldn't back down. I couldn't let my people suffer more. They needed me. Sitting before the holy fire, ready to take vows with my husband, not as a wife but as a mistress, I was shedding silent tears beneath my veil-not because of the sacrifice but because of the price I will pay for it. It all began with his words: "I always loved you. It was always you, never someone else." But the reality was different: "So you were always a manwhore?" "Yes, and you are my whore." And it ends with: "You promised to stay with me during this time. I am still waiting for you. Please... do not let me down." This is a story of a time when women were nothing but objects to be used and discarded, tied down to the bed by the chains of society and sweet taste. But the queen made sure none of them were deprived of their rights. Her legacy was one of hope, as she become the first queen to free courtesans from the shackles of slavery, granting them the freedom they deserve. She married the powerful king of Hind to save her kingdom, but in doing so, she never expected he would become the very reason to turn her life upside down. Mature content included!
