~A Hunger Games Fanfiction~ (I wrote this story almost 7 years ago at 14. I haven't gone back and edited anything - don't plan to - but I just republished this story for funsies since I recently rediscovered my wattpad account after the new hunger games book about haymitch came out. So obviously not accurate :333333) "You may not have the strength and training," she began in a hushed voice as a tear rolled down her cheek, "but you have the brains. Promise to me that you'll use them wisely, Harper." Harper, a fourteen-year-old girl was a quiet citizen of District One. She wasn't very popular nor liked by her classmates. Her only friend was her older sister, and her parents were hardly around. When the first Quarter Quell made its appearance, all district citizens of Panem were instructed to elect a fellow tribute of their district to enter the deadly arena. Reaping Day arrived; terror wrapped its relentless tentacles around Harper as she noticed more and more smirks and sly grins being passed her way before the election. Unfortunately for her, it didn't take long for her to realize why.

I won the Hunger Games once. They called me a Victor, but I know better. The Capitol took everything from me, my family, the boy I loved, even the right to call myself alive. I tried to disappear into the quiet: the bottle, the piano, the years between Games. But you can't hide from the world when it's burning. Then came a girl on fire, a spark that refused to die. And somewhere between her defiance and the Quarter Quell, I remembered what it felt like to fight back. This is my story. From the day I was reaped to the day the war ended. From a blood-soaked arena to the long silence after the revolution. Because in the Hunger Games, there are no winners. Only survivors. (68th games-Epilogue in Mockingjay) *I don't own the Hunger Games all rights of the original work go to Suzanne Collins. I only own the original characters that I have included in TINW.*
