For some reason, instead of screaming, I stay silent. She smiles and pulls out a chair from the kitchen table for me to sit on. When I don't sit, she says, "If you want to know what's going on, then sit." I think about it for a moment. She hasn't hurt me yet, and I have to admit, I am quite curious as to what's going on. This is a novella set in an alternate future where the current generation will be the last due to the impending Crash of the Milky Way with the Andromeda Galaxy where Earth is due to be destroyed. In this alternate future, the air quality is so poor that people no longer work for money and instead work for clean air. The Sensers are an elite group of people able to read the memory shifts that have been popping up across the Earth for 100s of years, pulling people into memories at random. Lin, one of the main characters, has an inconsistent talent for reading memory shifts. Meanwhile, his best friend and housemate Lin, is a Seer, a maligned group of people who claim to see aliens called The Visitors and can also read memory shifts. Lin and Janet happen upon a Visitor where the learn the truth about their reality, why it is the way it is, and embark on a journey with two Visitors - Amara and Bram - to see if they can stop the Crash.
