R.I.P. (Radical. Immortal. Poetry.)
I live and I will die but my words soar high written in skies of paper, allowed me to live forever. - Snippets of my soul in a piece of paper. R.I.P. originally stands for "Rest in peace." The Withered Rose
Lin Ziqi, a woman in her forties, is a dedicated wife and mother, having always adhered to the expectations laid out by her parents and husband. She married the man they chose for her, built a life around him and their children, and worked tirelessly to uphold the values of loyalty and obedience. However, her sacrifices go unappreciated. Her husband has a mistress, and in a brutal turn of events, it is her own son who, manipulated by this mistress, murders her. In her final moments, as she takes her last breath, Lin Ziqi's only regret is the life she could have had if she had chosen the boy from her past-the one who had waited for her, hour after hour, after high school, with a single withered rose in his hand. She wonders what her life might have been like if she had chosen to be loved, rather than loyal. When she dies, the world changes. Lin Ziqi wakes up. She is no longer a forty-year-old woman bound by regret. Instead, she is back in high school, the very place where her journey had once begun. Her best friend calls her attention to the present as the teacher asks her to answer a trigonometry question. Lin Ziqi's heart races. She is *reborn*. The realization hits her like a wave-the chance to rewrite her story, to make different choices. As she walks out of the school building, her gaze lands on him-the quiet boy who waited for her, holding that same withered rose in his hand. Lin Ziqi smiles softly to herself and approaches him. This time, she accepts the rose without hesitation, placing a kiss on his right cheek. The boy, taken by surprise, blushes but smiles in return. "Even though I love the staring, I'm not going anywhere aibou." Yugi is depressed because of Atem's leaving his world. Yugi knows that he is in a better place, but never had a chance to tell Atem about his true feelings for him. "I really can't thank you enough for staying by my side when everything happened, even when I pushed you guys away." Yugi discovers his heart disease, but wont be able to collect enough money for his treatment. He doesn't tell his friends about his condition, hoping they don't find out or ask about it. "I'm glad that both of you are happy together. Just know if you need anything from me, never hesitate to ask." Three years pass while Yugi is in more pain, only then his friends ask more about what is going on. Yugi won't tell them anything about it, but what happens when a familiar face returns. The Final Rhyme
Poetry was our safe space, a way to say words we couldn't otherwise. A way to make friends and connections. Every word in a poem is important. Designed to mean something. Much in the same way every experience and mistake makes us who we are. ************** This was a beginning, a beginning to what, you may ask. Well a beginning to me, I didn't know myself, I wasn't even free; I couldn't be me. I didn't mind the move, eventually things you face you get over it, but still I was numb. I wanted to start new; just me and Clou against the world, nothing to stop us. I had a good feeling, this year would be a good year. With that thought, I allowed myself to be consumed by the deepness of sleep.
