Being a single mum, full-time student and part-time waitress was hard. Hell, being a single mum alone was hard, but life goes on whether Jess thought she could do it or not. She never intended to have a child at the age of 19, but after being told she might never have kids, there was no way she could have gotten an abortion. Sometimes Jess thought that maybe it would have been easier if she had, given her past and who the father of her daughter was, the kind of person he was. Alas, she had managed to get away from Colin and focus on getting her teaching degree, her daughter was safe at the child care she had enrolled her in, Colin had no idea where they lived or where the child care was or where Jess went to university.
Making friends was always hard, especially when you didn't trust people, but wanted to tell them everything anyway. It was like being stuck between a rock and a hard place, now with a hanging knife poised above her head after the events of the past 18 months. She wasn't going to let it get to her though, she needed to focus and she needed to get on with her life, not only for her own sake, but for her daughter Amara's.
So what happens when a lovely and caring man approaches Jess randomly in the university Library?
