Penelope "Penny" Scott is a world famous singer and performer from Chicago. She has traveled the globe since she was at the tender age of 14, collaborating with music legends ranging from Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Cardi B, Eminem, etc. When Penny's older brother, Parker, is killed in downtown Chicago from what was reportedly a pre-meditated hit and run, she hits rock bottom. Struggling to get back in her music writing groove and languid dance move catalyst mindset, she decides to take a six month hiatus from the world and focus on getting her mojo back.
Where does she decide to find herself?
Why, the "murder capital of the world" Santa Carla, of course!
There she encounters individuals who would give the shadiest people of downtown Chicago a run for their money, some hippie hobos, a tree hugger here and there, and some rather reclusive neighbors who happen to own the bike shop across from her privately rented music studio.
Penny came to Santa Carla looking for herself, but what she'll end up finding is way more than what she bargained for.
