~ For centuries Avians had been caught and killed for the own pleasure and entertainment of the humans and the Galran Empire. So cruelly mistreated to the point they vanished completely from existence. The last one seen was more than a hundred years ago.
    
    The Galra destroyed the rest of the evidence that they ever flew the sky's of the planet Arus. Burning all the books, scriptures and art work, the Avians were wiped from history too. Now they are merely a legend, a tale of the tongue for good yarns around the fire pit. 
    
    But for one little village boy, and son of the chief in command, they're still out there. With the story of there being a nest, Lance McClain has his heart set on finding it. Determined to bring back the beautiful creatures of the skies and learn where it was that his mother vanished off to. 
    
    And oh how lucky he is when he just so happens to stumble across one, injured, drowning and though he may never admit it - in dire need of his help.

In the present, the Galra Empire's path of conquest and search for Voltron has led them to Earth's solar system. A group of space pilots-Shiro, Keith, Lana, Pidge, and Hunk-discover the Blue Lion and immediately get swept up into the Galran War.
