Imagine living with it your whole life. It's fine, because it is your normal and you don't know any different. But it is also horrible, because you want to know different. You want to know what it's like a be a normal, healthy kid.

You visit the hospital every three months. Almost everyone there are men in their 20s-30s. You're the youngest one, and you never hear the end of it. "Oh so young, how unfortunate" or the worst, "where the hell did you get it," "you must have awful parents if that happened to you" and "don't be spreading that shit around." 

People are terrified of you. Once the find out, you actually have enough room to walk through the hallway. No one sits with you, no one wants to work on a project with you, no one wants anything to do with you. 

This is the story of Julian Caldwell, an HIV seropositive since birth. This is how she lives her live through the 1980s, where the disease was highly stigmatised. There wasn't even an official name for the illness until 1983, before then it was referred to as GRID, or Gay-Related Immune deficiency. Imagine, being 13 years old and having a disease "reserved" specifically for gay men.

Plus she doesn't want her mom to feel bad. She and Mash have become engrossed in that little bubble of theirs, where all serious issues and damage aren't forgotten but put to the side. Mash isn't sick at the moment, Jas is traumatized but just seeing Mash smile makes her feel happier, you can even say safer too. Talking to somebody, everybody else, requires leaving the safety of that bubble. Thrusting Jas back into reality. Forcing her to stop hiding away with Mash enjoying just being together in seclusion. Making her address what's really going on. Jas takes a deep breath and readies herself to act. Then calls her mother back. Well, just before first period, a 'conveniently'-timed password-entry prompt pops on on her phone screen, right as she: 1) Presses the sensor, and 2): sneezes, spreading rhinoviruses all over herself and her phone. She wipes the phone off and goes to class,thinking nothing more of the incident until the next day, when she goes to turn it on and gets a kill screen: "Fatal Error 81-141. The flu's contagious, didn't you know that? Bye now, gone to play Caesar- Veni, vidi, vici and all that." With that, her phone blinks off, and within hours, other phones begin to follow suit. With panic on the rise, and global tensions rapidly following suit, can Vincent and her friends find the cure before it's hard shutdown? **NaNoWriMo 2017** Complete in the sense that I'll probably never write any more of this story. I might edit it someday, though. I had a decent idea when I started, but that quickly went out the window.
