He motioned for me to come to him. Once I walked over he asked, "Can we talk, please?" Ugh! I knew it! This is going to be that conversation where he tells me he regrets what happened. Why am I even following him? Why don't I spare myself the embarrassment and leave? He ushers me in his office and shuts the door behind me. I don't sit down. I turn around to face him. He is running his fingers through his hair, clears his throat, and starts to speak.
"Rayna," he said coolly.
"Stop," I said, "You can let me down easy, you know."
"Huh?" he stated, "What are you talking about?
"This is the part where you tell me you regret what happened between us. That you never want it to happen again. Where you can't believe you let it hap..."
He crossed to me fast and kissed me hard. After coming up for air he sat me down in the chair, bent and looked me in the eye.
"Shut up a minute," he breathed.
