"Everyone here is 16 or turning. So, none of you know the rules. You may have broken some of them already, but that's why you have three chimes. Each time you break a rule a chime is taken away. And if you're left with no more.. you'll hear the ravens crowing." He smiled innocently, though I could hesr the happiness in his voice.
"Since none of you know the rules, I'll need a volunteer. Raise your hand." No one raised their hand. Suddenly I felt a hand on my arm and someone rose my hand for me..
My heart started raising because I had studied all the rules and I had broken an important one..
