"You should leave before you make things worse." He stated while staring her down, a cold look covering his remorseful features at the look of hurt that briefly crossed her features. "I've done fine without a mate and I will continue to." At this point, his wolf was getting more and more agitated with him, but he pushed the beast aside. It had to be done, her safety was more important. "Reject me and we can move on, Princess."
His words broke a piece of her and even though she didn't need a mate, she couldn't listen to him. "It's not that easy." She spoke in a hushed tone, forcing the emotion away from her face before it showed her pure and utter vulnerability.
