In a world where faeries grant your wishes when you wish upon a shooting start, Kaea Reeves has just made a very dangerous one.
She didn't really expect the wish to be granted, but the Fair Folk happen to be more bloodthirsty than Kaea ever anticipated. With a faerie with murky intentions by her side and a world of supernatural creatures to navigate, Kaea starts to realize that things aren't as simple as they appear on the surface, and the world of humans isn't as exclusive to them as they thought.
With little time left in her life, Kaea decides to use her remaining wishes in an attempt to right some wrongs around her in a last attempt to let her life mean something. But the line between good and evil doesn't exist for the fae, and Kaea has some tough choices to make, especially when her fate seems irrevocably tangled with the mysterious faerie by her side...

And maybe finding the one guy of her dreams... in a world she never expected. When things go out of hand, she will find herself in a sea of troubles... literally. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So, this is really a spin-off of the Fight or Flight series, choosing a different point of view and a time a littler bit after the fourth story, but don't worry- you don't need to have read the others to understand this one. A Thorny Tale
Foreword: A plant can thrive or a plant can die with or without attention. Whether it's lovingly nurtured or butchered makes no difference really but sometimes they can come back stronger than ever. It's a relationship where we need each other more than we think about really and we take them all for granted like we do each other. One seed can sow doubt or it can sow hope. Wonder what would happen to the world if such a seed existed inside a person and it finally bloomed? Synopsis: Briar was made a slave and an orphan on the same day she was born. She serves at the castle she was born in, the court of winter. Everyone can command her to do tasks and she has no freedom to leave. Those at the top of this world are the ruling Fae, next are ruling humans, next Fae, free humans, protected slaves and then the banished ones. At least as a slave she has a chance at earning her freedom from a ruling Fae to pardon her. She is also something more which is discovered as she grows up but she must keep it hidden to protect herself. As she masters her skills, she, along with her friends, are given the opportunity to leave and earn her freedom. It's the first step in finding herself and her answers and perhaps it could change her life in ways she couldn't imagine when she was taking everyone's orders in the kitchen. But first she must rescue a prince from a dungeon... (Small warning) Contains suggestions of non consensual sexual relationships of a business kind but no graphic detail. Animosity between Humans and Faeriekind has long plagued the lands of Orphic, but began to fade in recent years. However, the newfound peace between species balances on a very thin thread which may soon break. With the emergence of a group known as Ironblades, Faeriekind is once again in danger. These Humans will stop at nothing to see all Faeries, and anyone born of Faerie blood, burnt to ash. Kalian Deirdre may be his people's last hope. It is up to him to infiltrate an Ironblade unit and uncover the true nature of their plot against Faeries before it's too late, but that will prove difficult. Moira Lev is an Ironblade Commander and well known for her hatred towards Faeries. Getting close to her won't be an easy task, and remaining undiscovered will be even harder. Regardless of the risks, Kalian is determined to succeed. He has to, or it will mean the extinction of his species as a whole.
