In an effort to escape all the people and places that reminded her of her terrible decision, Faith Fletcher was willing to go to the ends of the earth (or at least to bright, sunny California). Going that far away for college seemed like the perfect chance to Faith to start over, but even the best laid plans of mice and madams often go awry. As she tried to move on, her feelings of shame kept pulling her backward, forcing her to deal with her error again and again. What she wanted was forgiveness, but how could she expect anyone to forgive her if she couldn't forgive herself?

They say that in life, we all have three great loves. The first arrives in adolescence-innocent, filled with dreams and illusions. The second teaches you pain, and you cling to it even knowing it was never meant to be. It's the kind of love you once wished would last forever, but instead, it helped you grow. The third love is the one you never saw coming. You let it happen without expectations-just you, allowing yourself to be surprised. It's the love that heals old wounds and makes you genuinely happy. It's the love that teaches you how to love for real. It's the true one. This story is dedicated to all those still carrying wounds from that second love. Don't be afraid to move forward. Don't shut your heart, even if it's in a thousand pieces. Something better is coming.
