Her demons taunted her for years on end. Ever since she was a very young child. They constantly taunt and torment her until she does what the want. Her friends would support her through it until one day, they turned on her. That is what she thought and what the "others" wanted her to think! They basically placed a filter over her eyes so they could show her the "truth" about her friends. They even did the same thing with her boyfriend! They kept this up until she was withered down enough to finally convince her and the lead demon, pulled her toward him.
