Sleeping Curse - [NaNoWriMo]

You've all heard of Sleeping Beauty, but have you heard about her cousin?

Duchess Maria is the older cousin of Princess Aurora and was cursed by Maleficent at the same time. However, the curse was not meant for her but instead father. Due to the curse hitting the wrong person, it altered itself, no longer meaning eternal sleep. Every time Maria falls asleep, no one knows when she will wake up. It could be one day later, or one year later. In desperation, the duke called the fairy godmothers to help his daughter. Spent from their spell on Aurora, all they could do was make a spell where Maria will not age in her sleep.

494 years have passed since Maria was cursed. She has woken up from a five year sleep with the physical body of a twenty-five year old woman. As she tries to maneuver back into a steady schedule, a prince and his traveling party come through, asking for shelter while they heal their wounded. In a land where magic is forbidden, Maria must hide her identity, solve her curse, and maybe fall in love on the way.
