I looked up and what I saw froze my feet to the floor. I gasped harshly causing needles to stab at the back of my throat.

The Revelation
In the beginning, there was death. The darkness flows from hues of purple and orange, the moon rising to kiss the sun's rays one last time as the darkest cloud of night I've ever seen falls over our tiny haven. I catch Will's face from the side of my vision and my heart tightens slightly. The tick of his jaw wouldn't be noticeable for anyone but me. His best friend, his lifeline. A solemn tear forms in my eye as he wipes his face, another tear falling for the family he lost. I love him. Utterly and desperately so, but, there's nothing I can do about that. The ultimate forbidden fruit, if you will. I reach to comfort him and he doesn't respond. Crushed Underneath the Surface
For years, I've been writing in silence, creating worlds, characters, and stories that lived only in the margins of my notebooks and tucked-away folders on my computer. Writing has always been my escape, something I've done for myself-a way to step out of reality for a moment and breathe through the lives of the people I've imagined. I've written and rewritten countless stories, always hesitant to share them, never quite confident enough to let anyone else peek into the depths of my mind. It's always felt like just a hobby, something personal, something safe. But deep down, I've carried a quiet dream of becoming a writer, even though it felt a little foolish to hope for something so big. Now, after pouring myself into this story for what feels like a lifetime, I've finally done it-I've uploaded all my chapters to Wattpad, sharing this piece of me with the world. I know I still have so much to learn, and I'm always striving to get better, but I would truly appreciate any feedback-good, constructive criticism that can help me grow. But that was a long time ago. That was before his world was torn from his claws, leaving behind a broken, angry shell. Now a mercenary, he only seeks to endure the rest of his days trying to forget his misery. But that all changes when a client charges him with looking after a young girl. - I wrote this a few years ago, thought I'd give it a whirl online. It's pretty short, not quite novel worthy, but enough to get the job done, I think. And yes, this is basically The Last of Us, but with wolves (mostly different, but the plot is very similar). If I ever write a sequel, I can assure you it will be nothing like the actual sequel.Complete
