Punk merupakan subkultur yang lahir di London, Inggris. Pada awalnya, kelompok punk selalu dikacaukan oleh golongan skinhead. Namun, sejak tahun 1980-an, saat punk merajalela di Amerika, golongan punk dan skinhead seolah-olah menyatu, karena mempunyai semangat yang sama. Namun, punk juga dapat berarti jenis musik atau genre pada awal tahun 1970-an. Punk juga bisa berarti ideologi hidup yang mencakup aspek sosial dan politik.
