Shadow never had a good life. When the Rose/Xiao Long family came and got him he was beaten and broken and left alone In an alley way. At the age of 8 the abuse had started. Tai Was the one who broke him further. Ruby, Yang and Summer encouraged Shadow to leave and find a new home. Shadow promised that he would see them again In time. Shadow left that night and found the Belladonna's.  At the age of 10 the abuse started again Blake was the only one who protected him at that time. So Shadow fled again promising Blake he would see her In time. Shadow found the Schnee residence and at the age of 12 the abuse had started once again to Shadow's hate. Weiss and Winter told him the one thing he hated to hear just as Blake, Ruby, and Yang had told him as well. To find a safe place.
