When the world went to hell, Tom lost as much as any man. When the dead began to rise, he rose to the challenge. He thought he had experienced the worst that this fetid new world had to offer.

But there are far worse things than shambling, flesh-eating corpses.

Alone. Hunted. With only one useable hand, and armed only with his wits, a sharp tongue, and a makeshift sword (a lawnmower blade with a duct tape hilt), Tom has survived. It hasn't been easy. In a world gone mad, it's hard to know who to trust. He finds a friend in Wes, a gay former bouncer, with a tough-as nails exterior, and a tormented past. Without a set destination, they hit the road, seeking only to survive, and put their traumatic memories as far in the rearview mirror as possible.

Together, they are more than a match for the dead ones.

But the dead ones are the least of their problems.

A new threat lurks in the shadows. All too human, but with the mind of a monster, and a lust for fire. A sadist, following a master long forgotten by mankind. A master existing only in his mind, but no less monstrous.

She is Fatal to Death (Standalone Story) by writeraliciagonzalez
50 parts Complete
She's dead by the third chapter. Okay, it's a bit more complicated than that. Okay, it's A LOT more complicated than that. Renata wants nothing more than to pay her bills through her mildly boring office job and figure out whether she is still in love with her best friend. The latter half of that desire is just a sneak peak into her messy life-and it's only getting messier. Considering the paranormal world she is about to dive head first into, she will come to realize that figuring out her heart may just be the easiest part of this journey. Well, the endless supply of supernatural hotness in this story may beg to differ-but that's besides the point. Either way, it's gonna be a killer time ;) EXCERPT Chicken tacos it is. Right as Renata grabbed the ingredients, she turned to put them next to the stove, where a clean, plastic cutting board awaited. But as she moved, she was confronted by a stranger, an intruder, standing mere inches from her. Before she could scream, he was on her, slamming her against the fridge. Her back flashed with sharp pain. Her eyes pricked with fear as she drank in his uncovered face. Deeply tanned skin. Ruby red eyes-ruby red eyes? Thick, slashing eyebrows. Flat, broad nose. Buzzcut. Handsome. That was as far as she would go in complimenting him considering this guy held a knife to her throat. When he spoke, his voice came out like thunder. It held a thousand threats and a thousand secrets. It held promise of pain if provoked. "If you scream," he warned, mouth pulled in a slight snarl, "this ends quickly." She didn't dare nod against the blade. He noticed and amusement lit up for just a second in those devilish eyes. Oh, whoever the fuck this was, she already hated him. Considering her predicament, panic was the most prominent emotion coursing through her at the moment. "Good." He removed his hand "Now you're going to answer my questions." °°MATURE AND EXPLICIT CONTENT OF ALL KINDS, AND I MEAN ALL KINDS°
The Darkness in the Light by djscloud
25 parts Complete
For over a hundred years, humanity has lived in fear of the monsters that roam the streets, lurking in the drains below. Women and their daughters hide, protected in their homes, while men take their sons through the world, teaching them the responsibilities of having a family to feed and dangers to avoid. No one leaves the home unless it's essential, and most of the world prefers it that way. Until one girl spends her days perched on her window seat, looking down at the world below and dreaming of a different life. Her eyes are always drawn to the dark, ominous drains in the street, the ones that often blink open to swallow and person whole. One day, that person is her little brother, snatched right in front of her from their arms of their father and gone forever. When a person is snatched, they never return, and life goes on without them. But she can't accept that. Breaking all the rules, all the things she's ever known, she braves the world outside her little townhouse and goes on a mission into the darkness to find her brother. Only, it's soon her that becomes the one lost to the drains. To survive she must rediscover her world, and in the process, rediscover herself. She will be reunited with old friends, gain new ones, find out deeper secrets about her past than she ever could have imagined, and learn that the world is even more corrupt than she always thought. *** This story contains sexist ideology, mention of cheating, some gruesome scenes, and a whole lot of monsters and darkness. It isn't overly mature... there isn't much explicit language or sexual scenes, but there is a bit of violence, so just keep that in mind... and despite all that negativity, ENJOY!
Mankind devoured - BOOK 1 by LoganDavies9
21 parts Complete Mature
Hello, Logan here. It is 2021, and this is the first book that I ever wrote. It's shit. I'm publishing it back on Wattpad again so my friend can read it. It is unedited and as I left it in 2017. I am currently published with three books out, and this is so funny to look back on. Enjoy reading my shittest work to date. Lots and lots of love, Logan Beadnell-Davies The overarching theme for this first book is a theme of rage and hatred. In the words of a great philosopher; there is no limit to the gruesome and grotesque things we are willing to do in the name of survival. While reading this; Remember that not everything is as it seems. Remember that loved characters will die. Remember that the world will gradually get worse as the parts go on. Take a moment to ask yourselves these questions: What would you do in the name of survival? Would you steal to survive? Would you kill to survive? Would you lose your mind to survive? If you lost your mind, do you think you'd kill more, steal, injure, backstab, rape or any other atrocity you can think of? If you can think of it, then maybe you would. The characters and situations in this book are very real, if gore or horrific mental images scare you, then I wouldn't recommend reading far. DESCRIPTION: The Infection claimed the lives of over 3 billion people before the TV's went off. But it would claim many more. The problem didn't arise when those people got up and started walking again, or even when they started eating and infecting others, it began when people got desperate. In this new world, the true evil that humans are capable of gradually becomes more apparent, and a part of everyday life. Normality doesn't exist, people don't help other people. Friends aren't a thing anymore. All anyone truly has is themselves, and the burdens they carry.
The Virus Within (Original rough draft) by CrystalScherer

Back by popular request! The 2017 rough draft of The Virus Within! (Caution: Contains massive plotholes that were fixed in the polished The Virus Within Series. Grammar issues are present, particularly missing commas.) What do you do when you are one of the infected? The virus in my blood is trying to steal my humanity. It alters my very thoughts and reactions. It taunts me by tempting me with desires that it planted in my brain. These bloodthirsty desires would lead to my demise if I ever gave in. I have more in common with the zombies than with humans at this point. Even the fallen zombies accept me as one of their own. Blood is required to retain my grip on sanity, but the sweet-smelling blood from humans is a short path to madness. Human blood is to be avoided at all costs. Humankind around the world was driven close to extinction by the sudden appearance of the zombies, yet small groups of survivors constantly manage to appear and put my control to the test. -------------------------- This is a standalone zombie book. It has nothing to do with A Different Virus. I wanted to try a book with an easily irritated main character and a nutcase secondary character. This book has a slightly darker outlook at the beginning than my usual stories, but it has some humor further along. Definitely not a horror story, although it has its share of action. 4 updates a week: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday! Copyright April 2017. All Rights Reserved. 51 parts Complete Mature

The dead do not sleep. The dead do not eat. The dead most certainly do not laugh. And the dead do not cry. 6 years have passed since nuclear war broke out, destroying the planet and killing most of the world's population. Different geographical regions have been affected differently, the climate mutating and transforming people into horrific monsters of all kinds. Now humanity must fight to survive amongst literal zombies, vampires, and horrific fungal spores capable of reducing even the strongest to nothing. Emily lives with a small, ragtag group of survivors, her friends before the outbreak occurred. When one of them falls ill, in dire need of medicine, the group is forced to travel to the hospital across town, where they discover something, or rather someone unexpected. Mark was a normal person before the outbreak, before he was bitten by his own father, before everything went to hell in a handbasket. Now he lives under the hospital with his trusty cat Buckwheat, hiding from the daylight and wondering why him, out of all the infected, has to "live" with the curse of sanity after his demise. A chance encounter leaves him wondering if maybe there's more to life after death. BOOK ONE IN THE 'AFTER LIFE ENDED' SERIES
