"I'm not, Lucas," she pouted as he lowered her down on the bottom bunk.
"You really like calling me that, don't you?" Luke asked with an exasperated laugh, watching her crawl into bed slowly.
"Do you prefer bitchy fucking goooooch?" The girl asked cheekily, putting emphasis on the last word.
"No, klutz," Luke frowned dramatically down at her, pulling the covers up to her chin.
"You're so cute," Alina whined, bopping Luke's nose. She smiled up at the suddenly speechless man towering over her, unaware of the way his heartbeat furiously against his chest.
There was a peaceful, comforting silence until Luke managed to get a grip. "Goodnight," he soothed. His fingers itched painfully as he gazed at a strand of hair making its way into her glassy eyes.
Internally grunting at his lack of self-control, Luke reached out to brush it to the side. His fingers lingered on her face as he admired the way her eyes fluttered close at the cool contact of his rings against her skin.
"Night," she mumbled back, losing herself as she dreamed of his never-ending touch.
