When the best artist in Albion becomes too unwell to travel, he sends his one and only student - Evelyn - to take his place in striking up a portrait of Arthur of Camelot, in celebration of his being officially crowned Prince. Though King Uther has his doubts about her skill, he decides to give her a chance and grants her the job. What starts out as a mere service turns into much more; the many strange happenings in Camelot finds Evelyn often caught up in many of the adventures which befall the royal household. Time and time again, magical creatures, malicious persons, mysterious diseases, and a host of other major difficulties draw out the portrait painting process from a few weeks to a seemingly indefinite amount of time. As the months pass by, she becomes as much a member of the royal household as the dearly beloved servants, Gwen and Merlin - possibly even more so. [Not decided yet who Evelyn will be shipped with]
