'Most people are,' She replied, 'I don't really know the real reason why my hair color changed and I haven't exactly investigated it yet but it must be some top secret or something because nobody seems to know.'
'I'm sure there's a reason for many people to not know, right?'
'Yeah, I'm sure,' She agreed, 'So, how you been? Any...girlfriends?'
I felt hurt for a second, knowing that she really didn't confide in me much though that was entirely my fault. Sure, I was a player before I found out I had a mate but people change sometimes and I believe that I did. It wasn't easy at first, when I found out that she was dead, I slept around to ease the pain but then I realized that easing the pain with sleeping around was just a way to keep it out of my mind for a few hours and not for a whole day, week, month or even year so I stopped. For her. I stopped.
'No,' I told her honestly, 'No girlfriends.'
