Matthew Anders is an enigma.

New to Hickory High School, he rarely speaks and  is often seen sitting alone, at lunch or in class. Boys think he's uncool and the girls think he's bad news. Few have seen him outside of school, none want to.

But when old and some new drama comes up among the most popular kids at school, friendships are broken and rivalries restored. Divided between two cliques, the school feels more like a war zone, even the teachers are taking side.

And of course, only one in no man's land can see both sides.
