Just Friends

"What does that little orange heart mean?" You ask with a knowing smile as he hands you a medium-sized cupcake with a tiny decoration on top of the delight.

"It's a symbol Y/n." He says calmly, eyes still on his phone as he slides his finger across his it.

"I know it is." You chuckle, tilting the small cake with your hand as you eye its details. "I mean, I want to know what it really means."

He sees you grin, eyes accidentally meeting his and your heart starts to thump loud.

And he smiles back, before he says,

"You use it to symbolize you want to stay as friends."

And that's when feel your heart to sink.
