Askari Byrnes isn't a normal girl. Nobody ever said she was, and when she moves into Harriet Hart's lackluster town, Harriet is warned against getting near Askari. But Harriet, haunted by a strange past, is drawn to Askari and her odd ways. Why do Harriet's parents forbid her from befriending Askari? And why is Askari so frighteningly powerful? None of that matters to Harriet, though. She's always been one to bend the rules, and soon, both the girls find themselves on the run, hunted by a psychotic murderer whilst trying to unlock secrets of their past.
