Ayanda knows all too well that racial segregation will never truly end. Treated more like a dog at her job, she knows all too well than to trust white people much less to love them.
This all changes when the madam's son, a student from England flies back home for a few months. And for some reason takes a liking to Ayanda. She hates them but she can't seem to hate him. Their budding romance, seemingly sweet, can ultimately put Ayanda's life in danger.
They begin a dangerous affair, knowing very well that although not accepted, their love is the purest thing they have ever felt in their lives. Do these lovers give up or fight for the notion that 'black and white do mix'
