"Fuck, Bear shoot!" Adalind shouted from across the warehouse, as she struggled to keep the towering beast off of her.
"God damnit Addy, this is why I said not to wander off like that!" Bear yelled back, frantically trying to reload his rifle.
"Hurry the fuck up! I can't get it off of me!" Adalind screamed again.
Fucking christ addy you always get us in these situations... Bear thought to himself. He ran over to a pile of crates, and flipped his tripod down on top of one to Situate himself. He aimed down his sights and took a deep breath in and out.
*Bang*
Bear pulled the trigger and pierced the Z's head. Black goo and pieces of brain spewed out it's head as it splattered onto the wall behind Adalind and on her face.
Addy shoved the fucker off of her and bent over gagging. Bear slung his rifle over his shoulder and sprinted over to Addy.
"Are you okay? Where you bit?" He started asking a bunch of questions.
"Yes I'm fine, Th-thanks hun...but did you have to get it all o-over me?" Addy gagged in between her words whipping the remains away from her face.
Bear let out a chuckle
"Ey, at least I'm not the one running off like that." He leaned down to her level "Karma's a bitch ain't it"
Adalind punched him roughly.
"Ow- what was that for?" he laughed rubbing his shoulder
Addy glared at him and replied, mocking him
"'Karmas a bitch...ain't it.'"and stood up and used her shirt to wipe her hands off.
"I need a bath" she sighed.
"I could go for one too~" bear chimes in, nudging her arm with this elbow, grinning.
Adalind rolled her eyes and smiled
"We'll see." She giggled.

Unaware of the notes, they race to the south and struggle to determine where the strange zombies came from. The zombies are unlike any ranks previously seen, and they aren't as predictable. Some have new tricks hidden up sleeves, forcing any Stronghold they encounter to quickly adapt to the new challenge or risk being overrun. Secrets never remain hidden, and zombie apocalypses never make life easy.
