Trolls tag railroad boxcars under the Punks Bridge. Old dwarves drink coffee in the coffeehouse off of 3rd and Wormwood. A leprechaun gambles away another paycheck hoping this time will be different.
Even the crow that sits on the water tower has a glint of mystery behind its eyes.
Over the next twelve months, explore Hemlock through the eyes of its residents. Experience the polished store fronts, the forgotten country side and the cold street lights that illuminate the town. What may be true for some residents is not true for others, yet Hemlock is encapsulates all the rumors.
The best way to understand any town is by getting to know the people that live in it.

However, unbeknownst to many (and ironically enough), someone else is pulling the strings from behind the scenes: a man codenamed "Paper" who is shrouded in the dark more often than not. And that darkness is what String wants to step into. **Updates Fri** (hopefully) **A Collection of Short Stories** On the northern coast of Vittenstock province lies Drevston, subject to all the cold seasonal winds and tides and the rough elements. A once-flourishing industrial town, Drevston has now deteriorated into a shambling spot of crime, shady business and dark magic, and earned the nickname Demonstown. Out of this emerges a group of peopled called the *contractors*, well-versed in various skills including combat, diplomacy and magic, running high-risk, high-reward errands for the more powerful people of Demonstown. 567 Catherine Square, an unassuming little house squashed between equally unassuming little houses along one side of the square, is home to one of those contractor organizations: the Order of Prometheus. Secretive, constantly short-staffed and fighting to make ends meet, they seem no different from the other contracting offices sprinkled in the streets of Demonstown. They, too, are subject to the storm that's brewing across town, but there are some reasons why we chose to talk about them... *Now (hopefully) on Royal Road by the same name with revised content!*
