Sekam, a shape-shifting demigoddess, and her guardian, the fourth creator good, wander a neon green toxic wasteland left in the wake of biowarfare while humankind cowers. To restore her true form, Sekam must find a cure. When she saves Dylan, a biohacker who knows more than they are letting on, her path becomes clear.
Mars wants to see the world and experience everything it has to offer him, but he can't do that from inside a glass cage locked away in a laboratory. A failed attempt to create a better weapon with partial immunity to the green, Mars is a lab experiment whose cells are routinely reprogrammed to test new algorithms and their response to the green.
And they're all supposed to come together and save the world. We'll see about that.

Exile: The Book of Ever by JamesCormier
30 parts Complete
Centuries after the Fall, the United States has been wiped away. The crumbling remains of the great American empire are home now only to savage, lawless tribes and packs of ravening Damned-the twisted children of the apocalypse. Most of those few who survived humanity's destruction spend their short lives in a violent struggle for survival. But some light still flickers in the darkness: the Blessed of Bountiful live in seclusion, relying on walls both physical and spiritual to protect them from the Desolation that their world has become. Among them are the Saints, those few men and women born with superhuman abilities that the Blessed see as gifts from God. The violent apostate tribes of the Northeast Kingdom have always been a danger, but up until recently its small size and the vigilance of its people have made Bountiful an unappealing target. As attacks on the community grow harsher and more frequent, however, even the steadfast Blessed are forced to start preparing for the worst. With her home's very existence threatened, seventeen year old Ever Oaks, a Saint with the power to heal, is forced to make a difficult choice, one that may come to define her people's future... Exile was a semi-finalist in Mark Lawrence's Great Self-Published Fantasy Blog-Off (#SPFBO). Fantasy Faction said it was "extremely cool," and Bookish Lifestyle called it "more than just a story, a journey and an experience." When I'm asked about it, I often describe it as "X-Men meets The Walking Dead." In addition to reading it here for free, you can buy Exile in e-book or paperback on Amazon.com.

A dystopian young adult novel involving romance, secret experiments on human subjects, and a group of teenagers' will to survive. Reader Comments: "I'm gonna gush about your book real quick...all the technology has a purpose and is beautifully explained so I can picture it in my mind...the whole concept of the book is completely original...*moment of silence for your beautiful arch of character development* everything your characters do is strictly them but they develop enough to show more about themselves without you straight up telling the reader about them" -Vairl9023 "Ahh!!! This is so good!! Akropolis by hcedwards
9 parts Complete Mature
"Any thought you ever had; memories, desires, your fears and your dreams, are all recorded and stored safely in the Quantum Cloud for your eventual revival. Death is now merely a transitional period to the next stage of your existence. As a QUBIT (quantum processing biosynthetic), you will experience a life free of disease and suffering. Time is no longer your enemy. Regret is a thing of the past. Each new day brings the promise of endless possibilities, spent in the pursuit of your own happiness, guiltless with the knowledge that there are no longer earthly constraints to inhibit you. This is the life you have always wanted. Welcome to your new beginning..." Akropolis is a city at the end of times, a sanctuary where the brightest and best have been housed since the last Great War. A genome defect has afflicted the majority of the population and scientists are desperate to find a cure. In the meantime, man has found his own salvation in the form of the QUBIT (quantum processing bio-synthetic), an android that is capable of prolonging life almost indefinitely, and yet what makes them human in the first place has been lost in the transition. The ruling council believes that salvation is nigh, but whether that hope arrives in time is questionable. The city's future depends upon the actions of a few individuals, all of whom are struggling with their own mortality. Quentin is the boy who dreams of death. Mia is the tortured soul. Trey is the soldier that defines duty. Misao is the future of the ruling council. Claire is the girl with a secret that will rock the foundations of their entire civilization. Unbeknownst to them, the entire fate of Akropolis lies in their hands. Either humanity will find a way to survive or it will sink slowly into the sea of extinction.
Synthetic Eden by RivalryWP
52 parts Complete Mature
In a not-so-distant future where genius is currency and ambition can be weaponized, Synthetic Eden follows Kara Wynn, a brilliant university student whose mind is her greatest asset-and possibly her undoing. Driven by the need to prove herself in a world that values perfection over humanity, Kara juggles her rigorous academic life and her quiet grief with sharp intellect and stubborn will. But something is off beneath the surface of her carefully ordered life. Electronic glitches, a blinking red light hidden in her desk, and an increasing sense that she is being watched all point to something far more insidious. When whispers of a groundbreaking, elite program begin to circulate-one that promises to recognize the world's most exceptional minds-Kara doesn't suspect she's already on the list. As she and others are unknowingly drawn into what seems like a prestigious selection process, the truth unfolds with horrifying precision: it was never a competition. It was a culling. Humans and animals alike, taken under the guise of opportunity, are thrown into secret experimentation, each subject forced to evolve-or perish. Kara's only constant is Dr. Jun Seo, a stoic, enigmatic scientist whose fascination with her runs deeper than professional curiosity. Their growing connection becomes both sanctuary and danger, especially as Kara begins to piece together fragments of the truth. In the end, the greatest betrayal isn't the experiment itself-but the person orchestrating it. What if Eden wasn't paradise, but a controlled illusion? And what if the price of survival is the destruction of everything human?

Ashes Of Tomorrow

6 parts Ongoing Mature

ASHES OF TOMORROW When humanity burned, knowledge became the only fire left. Two centuries after the world collapsed, humans no longer believe in science-and science no longer believes in humans. The Decay Virus has transformed the Earth into a living organism: cities grow like flesh, metal breathes, and the sky reflects the pulse of out-of-control biotechnology. Among the ruins, Ryn Solas, a scientist awakened from a frozen sleep two hundred years ago, awakens to find a world born of his own mistakes. He once created a virus designed to save humanity-and instead erased it from history. Now, he must confront two opposing forces: Kael Drayke, the stubborn leader of the Survivors who thrives on instinct and hatred of the past, and Eira, a Hybrid creature who is neither human nor monster-the only one who might understand the true meaning of evolution. The three are trapped between the ruins of science and faith, logic and instinct, past and future-as the world begins to speak with a voice that belongs to no one else: the voice of an ancient machine that believes destruction is a form of salvation. At the end of everything, they must answer the same question: Does humanity still deserve to survive... or is it time to be replaced by something more worthy?
