Last Fall, Emilia Duncan attended Whiteville Academy, only to go missing that Spring.  The police found a haunting puddle of blood on school property, yet no body was ever recovered.  Now, it is up to Emilia's lifelong best friend, Posie Elliot, to figure out what happened last year, and what better way to uncover the secrets of a preparatory boarding school than to become an undercover student at the academy?

Not only is Whiteville the home of elitists, trust fund babies, and an abundance of future doctors, it is also the home of multiple murder suspects.  The question is who.  Although once quiet and reserved, Posie has to cross the boundaries of prep school norms and test her psychological limits in order to divulge into the dark past of the academy.  

Along the way, Posie runs into the arrogant Scott Parker, whose enormous ego couldn't even overshadow his good looks.  Scott and his group of friends are tied to Emilia in more ways than one, complicating Posie's time at Whiteville.

Will she discover what happened to Emilia?  Will Posie's cover be blown?  And can she handle the immense pressures of boarding school?
