Allegra Blyte is 12 when she is sent to the Convent of Daughters of the Cross. She hates it. She struggles with loneliness and fear, and the emotional cruelty of the nuns. She finds herself in the midst of an elitist wealthy society of girls who have ponies, butlers and maidservants. Her own parents have no money and consequently she is unable to compete with them on this level.
However, she is quick witted, resilient and eager to please. She adapts to this cloistered world, learning rigid conformity and subjection to authority. Passionate friendships are the only deviation from her total obedience. Allegra immerses herself in her faith the only thing she can control. Her most important friend is Alice, a highly-strung girl with a frivolous personality. When Alice makes known her intention to convert to Catholicism Allegra is thrilled and tries to help her.
Alice begins to manifest signs of a failing mental health, her irrational behaviour becomes a matter of concern. Allegra tries to warn the nuns of her condition, but they dismiss her fears. Eventually Alice's mind is destroyed, and she commits suicide by throwing herself off the roof of the school chapel. Because suicide is a mortal sin it is construed that her soul will go to hell. Allegra is distraught and feels that she did not do enough to help her friend.
Soon, a new girl by the name of Jo arrives at school. Jo is outgoing lively and promiscuous. They become best friends. Allegra witnesses Jo being sexually abused by a catholic priest. This event changes everything between them and they are distanced from each other. She is angry with the nuns and her faith and everything around her. She is fed up of having to think about religion on an hourly basis and relate everything she does to God. She begins to reject Catholicism.

Friendless and timid, Guinevere is stuck in her socially anxious shadow, content to let her sister lead and live a sheltered life. Without Natalie pushing her to break out of her comfort zone, she'd be trapped in fear. The world is scary, even her own family conflicts terrify her; she needs Natalie's support. But what happens when Natalie, her big sister, her mentor and only real friend, suddenly can't be there for every moment of her life? Lola, raised to be a hardworking farmer, when all she wants is a bit of agency over her life, the freedom to do what she wants. And yet, she is perfectly willing to let Natalie handle conversations for her. For as much as she wants to be free, she wouldn't know what to do with herself, get meticulously caught up in planning the details and never end up doing anything. And Natalie, who has no personal desires, simply living in moments and finding the best in whatever is going on. Freely engaging with her friends and helping them, as she lacks her own internal drive, the self awareness to know what she wants. After a long childhood struggle with her self esteem and valuing herself, that has become what she "needs," her coping strategy with rough situations. Being complacent with what happens to her and simply accepting, with no real goals of her own, no idea that her friends are just as directionless as she is. When health complications arise for her, and her friend group is falling apart around her as she can't guide them, she'll have to ask the essential questions that she can't simply answer in a quick sentence. The questions that she has long dismissed as unimportant. Is this what she truly wants, to be solely fulfilled by everyone else depending on her for support? And where does she draw the line? This story touches on potentially triggering content, including the use of slurs, toxic family relationships, anxiety, anger, and death. Torin has always felt out of place in his small village. Despite the familiarity of his surroundings, he cannot shake the feeling that he doesn't belong. He longs for a place where he can truly be himself, away from the expectations of his people, a life free of the stifling weight of conformity. His dreams are filled with a sense of belonging, a vision of a life where he is accepted for who he is, not for who others expect him to be. One fateful day, while attending the annual Dragon Safe Arena, where dragons are brought to be killed for sport and fear, something extraordinary happens. A black dragon, larger and more majestic than any Torin has ever seen, enters the arena. The crowd erupts in excitement, but Torin feels an unexpected connection. The dragon's eyes lock onto his, and in that moment, he hears a voice-not in his ears, but in his mind. The dragon speaks to him, its words clear, yet impossible: "I see you, young one. You do not belong here." In a shock of realization, Torin understands the dragon's plea. No one else can hear it, no one else can understand the words-but Torin can. At that moment, everything changes. He chooses to defy the world he's always known, running away with the dragon, escaping the village that never understood him. As they journey together, seeking refuge in the wilds, they encounter other teens-four others-each of whom carries their own special gift. They, too, are misfits. One has the power to control the wind, another can manipulate shadows, a third can speak to animals, and the last can heal with a touch. The group of them, united by their unique abilities, form an unlikely family.

[Book #1 of Twisted Deception] "You people don't know a damn thing about us, don't even speak." **** Everyone knows that high school is always something to dread. GPA, friends, enemies, prom, graduation, everything that you think would make high school good and bad for the future. Now scratch off friends, GPA, prom, and graduation. Why would you scratch them off? Because everything else will be the only thing that's important when you get to this high school. Saint Johnathan Pier is the one high school in the city where everything happens and normally, stuff you wish you didn't see. Everyone warned people about the dangers of the students going there but did they ever mention the people already broken by it? They were dubbed "the rainbow colors of society" just because they were different from other students in this school. But there's a slight differential between them: four of these students are popular while the other four are normal. While the four populars are seen as "superior, hot, and intimidating", the four normals are seen as "weirdos, weaklings, and irreverent bystanders". Being different from the other kids has always been a struggle for all of them since grade school, but they try to keep that out of mind. But with their dark history following them at every corner, making new friends can't be on their list. Matter of fact, it isn't an option. Especially when their attitudes are what drive people away rather than in. Not like they're complaining though. When these eight students get paired up for an end of the year assignment, they encounter a lot of drama that will test their relationships to the max. What will happen to them? Can they grow comfortable with each other? Can these troubled teens even be friends in the first place? Come along on the journey as these eight try to survive their last year of high school. ⚠️TRIGGER WARNING ⚠️: This contains strong language, mentions of rape, bullying, etc.

Ready Or Not, Here I Come

22 parts Complete

Once upon a time, there was a pretty young girl that had no clue that werewolves and vampires and what not existed. And then a werewolf bit her. That's where the similarities between Annabeth Moonlight and what she believes to be the "fairy tale world" end. Annabeth is a normal 17 year old high school girl, thinking normal high schooler thoughts, when a werewolf bites her. Most rudely, too. Then, just when she convinces herself that the bite was just some wierdo, she begins the Change. She starts hearing a voice in her head that claims to be her wolf. And finally, once she has finally gotten a handle on all these new changes (actually, she only thinks she has), a handsome guy walks into her life, and her inner wolf tells her that he is her destined mate. And just as she thinks everything is going perfectly, a man from her (very recent) past shows up and turns everything around. And he happens to be another mate. But a werewolf can only ever have one mate at any given time, as Annabeth has learned. So one is real, and the other is faking it, to put it simply. So now, she also has to figure out which one is "good" and which one is "bad". Just freaking great. And, just after she does that, she gets caught up in a war. (Well, technically, she starts the war, but let's not get caught up in the technicalities, shall we?) So join Annabeth as she discovers the magical (and somewhat annoying) world of werewolves and love!
