He faces me, limbs trembling. His face is pale, eyes wild. I can't do this. I can't fight my best friend. 'No', I think, but why is it so difficult to say it out loud?
The crowd is growing restless by the minute, screaming for us to fight. But I can't do that. "Sunny," I say, my voice drowned by the noise. "We have to do it. It's now or never!"
Sunny's expression changes to that of determination. An illusion is already beginning to form. As I watch, his lips shape the words he can't say aloud.

I don't know how to explain it but it felt as though my brain was tearing in two, like my head was cracking open. When the pain stopped, I found myself surrounded by wolves, the shifted pups.
