Serena has been on her own for 4 years. She has no family she knows about and sells cupcakes for a living. She lives in a decent hotel and has street smarts. She knows what dangerous robbers and rapists to avoid and how to outsmart them. She knows much about who's on the streets, she forgets about what drives on them. Running recklessly into the empty cold streets, a car comes out of nowhere and hits her. With that, Serena isn't just a girl trying to make enough money to survive. Serena learns that everything bad in life has a silver lining. Will I Am from the Black Eyed Peas, takes a late night ride trying to find out a reason to continue making music. His life feels like a pattern until he literally hits Serena.

Ross Lynch and his girlfriend Hannah have the perfect relationship, or so Ross thought. The morning that R5 was scheduled to leave on their US tour, Ross got a text from Hannah - who was supposed to be joining them on tour - that said they were over. Ross was crushed. Hannah stole his heart and then stomped all over it. Ross lets his bad mood control the way he interacts with the people around him, including Line Drive, the opening band that the label asked R5 to invite on tour. When a bad conversation with the lead singer causes Line Drive to want to quit the tour after just two shows, Ross's family expects him to fix it. But the only way he can do that is to write a song with Sophia, the lead singer, so that her band will finally take her seriously as a song writer. The only problem: Ross has never written a song. This unlikely pair has a bumpy road ahead of them. When all is said and done, will the song be a hit, or a miss?
