I closed my eyes and let the shifting take over me. It was such a strange feeling. Hearing your bones cracking and forming and never feeling pain. I opened my eyes. Examining my new body I felt panic sweep over me.
It was then that Rai knew. She knew why she was alone. She finally saw what everyone else figured out a long time ago.

I float calmly, eternity surrounds me, I speak no words, but I hear my voice in all directions. I feel my head, it's wet with blood. I feel my stomach, the same. I am dead.
