Eiji and Ibe stayed in New York with Ash and his gang for about a year. Eiji is debating on getting a job or attending school while Ash takes care of other street rats who are trying to oppose him. Ibe and Max show up one day, and Ibe tells Eiji it was about time they went back. Eiji saw it was his only chance to say what he wanted to say before leaving.

They figure out his name was Josh and that he was kidnapped by those men. He got away only after they r@ped him. Upon meeting this broken and traumatized child, Ash feels moved to help Josh and other kids like him.
