The human race is sending probes out into space to look for alien lifeforms. The humans are the aliens. Your scientists have it all wrong. Your government is lying to you. Your race is hiding every thing. 

Ana is just a normal girl... except for the fact that she is an alien who can control energy on the run from a secret government association of hunters with a computer genius and a somewhat homicidal bitch. But other than that she's completely average.

Ana has spent the majority of her life looking for others of her kind and a place to call home. On her way, she will befriend two orphans with a dark past, encounter murderous hunters out to kill her just for being born and get pulled into an all-out war that will pit humans and aliens against themselves and each other.

In a story about survival, acceptance and family, Ana is no chosen one. She just made a choice.

Every father wants to be their daughter's hero. It's an unspoken rule written into every man's DNA. But most fathers aren't pitted up against eight legged abominations. Frank was just an ordinary man; no training, no experience, just depression and a four year old. Yet, he was all that stood between Ana and certain death. If that's the way it was, then he couldn't back down. He made a promise, and he would keep it or die trying. Luckily, the world wasn't entirely merciless. This "System" granted humanity a fighting chance: otherworldly gifts and powers that defied the laws of nature. While Frank's gift wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, it did give him power. Power enough to hopefully keep his daughter safe, and punish the monsters that dared threaten her in the first place!

The ruling council believes that salvation is nigh, but whether that hope arrives in time is questionable. The city's future depends upon the actions of a few individuals, all of whom are struggling with their own mortality. Quentin is the boy who dreams of death. Mia is the tortured soul. Trey is the soldier that defines duty. Misao is the future of the ruling council. Claire is the girl with a secret that will rock the foundations of their entire civilization. Unbeknownst to them, the entire fate of Akropolis lies in their hands. Either humanity will find a way to survive or it will sink slowly into the sea of extinction.

Chaucer, you have a wonderful opportunity here, are you going to take it or not?" Now, I am seriously confused, "Opportunity?" She takes advantage of my befuddled state and shoves the door open. Shit. The corners of her mouth pull up, and it's so unnatural, it takes me a moment to realize she's smiling. Major plastic surgery? Probably. Click. Did she just lock the door? She locked the door! I spring towards the house phone, dusty from years of doing absolutely nothing, so I can call the police. I don't make it. Halfway there, I trip on my own pant-leg and face plant on the floor. The woman steps over me and retrieves the phone. She looks at it as if it's a foreign object, "This won't be necessary. All I want to do is talk to you." For some reason, instead of screaming, I stay silent. She smiles and pulls out a chair from the kitchen table for me to sit on. When I don't sit, she says, "If you want to know what's going on, then sit." I think about it for a moment. She hasn't hurt me yet, and I have to admit, I am quite curious as to what's going on. Instead, they were all fooled and became slaves under Olympus watching eye. Millions of humans became stranded on the red desert planet, only to extract fuel back to Earth. Kelly will understand that what she helped to created wasn't just a overwatch system, it was the very foundation of which a new kind of slavery was built on. An intergalactic treadmill to drain Earth from the unwanted. Upon deeper discovery, Kelly will find herself in the middle of an alien civil war that the humans have started and funded to keep the fear amongst the colony workers.
