The Pevensie siblings have ruled Narnia for many years. Narnia has entered its Golden Era, filled with peace and prosperity. However, a new threat is emerging. King Hakan of Telmar is threatening war with the Narnians unless some sort of agreement can be reached. In the pursuit of peace, King Edmund has crossed the lands to Telmar. Waiting for him is Yvaine Shula, a lady of King Hakan's court. Ever since she was little, Yvaine was fascinated by Narnia and all of the creatures who lived there. Most of all, she was curious about Aslan and the four sibling monarchs. When Yvaine hears about King Edmund's arrival, she leaps at the chance to ease her curiosity. Despite the tensions growing everywhere, Yvaine finds herself growing closer to the Narnian king. What will it take to save his kingdom? What can she possibly do to help? As the eldest sibling, she became responsible for 14-year-old Peter, 12-year-old Susan, 10-year-old Edmund, and 8-year-old Lucy as their parents stayed behind to fight in the War. Their mother sends her and her younger siblings off to the countryside to live with an acquaintance of their Father, Professor Kirke. Elizabeth meets and befriends Professor Kirke, who tells her a story of a world far from theirs called Narnia. After dinner and putting her younger siblings to sleep, she was going back to her room when a mysterious voice called out to her and lured her to a mysterious Wardrobe.

Around a year after they have returned from Narnia Edmund falls ill and the doctors believe they cannot save them. A message from Aslan reaches the Pevensies; they can save Edmund if they go to Narnia, for the illness will not exist in that world. All 4 can go, but Edmund will never be able to return, for if he does he will die. When the siblings arrive in Narnia they hear Caspian has called them, for trouble has been stirring. How can 3 kings and 2 queens rule 1 country, with 2 very differently opinionated people.
