17-and-a-half year old Joe appears much older than he is. He feels as though he's thrown away his youth and is growing up too fast. In a last bid attempt to take back the best years of his life, Joe enrols in night classes at another local high school after some coercion from his sister and a few friends.
There he meets (properly) his neighbour 18-year-old Gavin, a boy that doesn't seem to have his head screwed on. They take little notice of each other at first but after an incident with a mutual friend they can't help but do just that.
