When the letter finally came, Sam Rivera was thrilled to find out she had been accepted into the college she'd always wished for, Birkbeck University in London. Even better, her best friend is coming along with her. But while the letter meant everything to her, she began to grow a sinking feeling in her gut that her life had just gotten ten times worse.

He followed her around until he grew careless and she noticed him. The boy in black, Sam called him. A mysterious person that lurked only in the shadows.

She couldn't help but take the long way to college every morning, looking over her shoulder, paranoid that he might still be after her.

Who is he? Why is he following her in particular, and not the thousands of other prettier girls in the entire city of London? Should she call the police? Tell somebody?

For a while she doesn't see him again, until one fateful day she decided to allow her friend to drag her into something she would regret.

Then, she finds, there was nothing to regret at all.
