Seventy-four years has been long enough. The way of the infamous Hunger Games has been altered. No longer is every Gamemaker out to devise the worst means of torture and death for every tribute. No longer are the people of Panem outwardly tolerant of President Snow's murderous actions. Under the facade of a normal group of Gamemakers, several rebellious citizens have begun an experiment which, if it succeeds, will make use of technology both to rescue the tributes before they are dead and then deposit the brainwashed children back in time. They have to try it. No one knows what horrors future Hunger Games may bring, and the desperate rebels are willing to try anything. Meanwhile, in the mountainous regions of District 2, Cato Hadley and Clove Kentwell have trained their whole lives for the Games. Nevertheless, their ambitions change when they, without meaning to, find themselves in the Games together. They are both determined to win. But if they don't, what will happen to them? The brainwashed tributes who land in New York City know nothing of who they are or where they are from. They do not remember Panem, or the Games, or even their own names. The smooth life of a 19-year-old boy's life was going just fine until it goes into a different direction as a strange girl that is the same age as him, enters the young boy's life. This strange girl claims that he has been seen committing several crimes by a lot of eyewitnesses, but this person claims to know it was an imposter. An exact look-a-like, and offers a way out of what will undoubtedly be a very tricky situation. Sure of the truth in this situation, but somewhat distrustful of this strange girl, and the young boy hastily agrees to the proposal, it all feels very exciting, as if a big adventure was about to begin. But what if this strange girl is pulling a prank. Or what if this proposal is wrong or missing important details. How could an ordinary young guy like him end up in a situation like this? Time to find out for the better or for the worse himself. If this boy doesn't find out why he could end up in prison for years for something he doesn't ever even remember doing.
