A Leaf-wing, Hope, is the last of her kind, her mother, Queen Sequoia, was the last known animus in the tribe, she saw the hivewings marching to her to have her head, and she cast all her power to her only know daughter, Hope, then casted her to a neighboring tree, thus saving her, but Queen Sequoia was murdered never knowing her dragonet.

Maple, an animus LeafWing who works for Scarlet, has been attacked by a mysterious dragon and imprisoned. And why does she keep having visions of nothing but pitch blackness? Did something happen to her niece? And what will happen when a bully Skywing keeps making her doubt that being a hybrid is somehow wrong? Will Spirit be able to recover her regular self or will she give up and become a doormat? And how will a secret admirer come into play? Especially when Spirit begins to get more visions of strange giant creatures deep within the ocean.
