"Mommy! Mommy!" Lucy yells. "It's my birthday I'm finally 9!" "Okay sweetie", her mother says. Lucy looks in the fridge and noticed that they were out of milk. "Mommy can we please go to the store sometime today?" lucy asked, "Yes sweetheart I'll have to go alone so you can keep your father company." her mother said with a grin, "Okay that's fine!" lucy said smiling ear to ear, "I'll go wake daddy up!, Dad! Dad! DAD!" "Yes Lucy?" her father asked rubbing his eyes to be more awake, "It's my birthday finally!" "That's great honey ... how old will you be?" her father added, " Daddy!" lucy said with concern, " oh I know miss little birthday girl will be 9 years old!" "can you go cook hotdogs for me today daddy?" lucy asked, "I'll get up so I can grill those hot dogs just for you. Okay!" lucy's father said, Lucy yells "okay dad". Lucy runs to the kitchen looking for her mother. "Mom?" She yells. Lucy figured that her mother must've went to the store already. She goes to her room and starts drawing. Lucy falls asleep for at least six hours. Lucy gets up and looks around she wonders where her mother is. Her father walks in the room looking panicked. "Your mother won't answer her phone and she hasn't came back yet." Lucy yawns then she asks her father "is mommy okay?" just as she said that they heard a loud knock at the door, so her father gets up to get it. There's a policeman at the door then reality hit Lucy... something had happened to her mother...

INSIGHT ON MAI DIARY
The "Please..." I hear her whimper and I go into full panic mode. "Calm down, okay? Deep breaths. Don't hang up. I'll be with you soon. Where are you?" I rush as I grab the car key sitting on the glass table. I run into the garage with my dad behind me. "What do you need?" Dad asks "A room. A big one." He runs back inside as I hear her voice again. "Basement...blood...Elle..." I hear sounds of movement in the background and connect the dots. Elle's bleeding, or something... "Deep breaths baby, deep breaths. It's okay, you're okay" I murmur reassuring words to her, thankful that there's no traffic. Several thoughts run through my mind as I drove to her house. The last time we spoke, she could barely stand me, but now she's calling me. I feel kinda used, but now's not the time to think about that. I reach her house in a matter of minutes and shove the door open. The house is quiet, save for my heavy breathing and footsteps. I reach the basement and take in the sight in front of me. Don't forget to clean up after yourself, and get good grades in school." The boy's mother ruffles his hair and kisses him on the cheek. "I love you buddy. I'll be back in a few years.
