After the crew of a Spanish ship inexplicably disappeared in 1795, rumours began to spread of horrific creatures - creatures born of women sent to their deaths by superstitious sailors; creatures who took their vengeance by returning the favour.

Years later, in 1802, an Irish sailor named Niamh Ó Murchadh embarks on a voyage to investigate the mystery surrounding the disappearance of many a crew over the last seven years.
