Christian and Remi have been best friends since they were three. They know everything about each other, or so they thought. Remi discovers six months into their senior year of high school that Christian has been suffering from severe depression for two years. When Christian ends her own life suddenly, Remi travels back in time to Christian's dark history of the past two years to stop her from taking her life. Every time something happens that puts her friend closer to her tragic death, she witnesses the situation from Christian's perspective. On her journey she develops a new understanding and view on her and Christian's friendship. Will Remi be able to save her friend from her own self, or will Christian be gone forever?

Trigger Warning: suicide, death, suicidal thoughts, self harm, and grief.

*THIS IS A WORK OF FICTION. ANY RELATION OF THE CHARACTERS OR SITUATIONS TO REAL LIFE ARE NOT INTENTIONAL AND ANY SIMILARITIES TO REAL LIFE ARE A RESULT OF COINCIDENCE* ---------- ""Mayuri, I don't want you to feel like you're ever alone," I couldn't tell, but I know X was holding his tears or something back. He was hiding something from me, but I couldn't tell what it was. "I don't want to hang up until you feel sleepy or want to rest. For as long as I've known you Mayuri, I know you hate being alone, especially if you're in the hospital. So, I made a promise to myself, that as long as you're awake, I'll stay awake with you, so you don't ever have to feel like you're all alone." ---------- What would it be like to be normal? What would it be like to not be scared to fall asleep at night and not be afraid to wake up? She has always wondered what it would be like to be someone else who wasn't in her shoes. Mayuri Crest has unfortunately developed narcolepsy at a young age and ever since then, her life has always been under constant surveillance, where people always pity her, but never really asked her about who she is. Her last year in high school though, she plans to make sure that she doesn't forget any of it. Mayuri plans to make her last year the best year she's ever had and finally, after the long, gruelling pain of alienated because of her conditions, both her medical and school wise, she would experience what it would be like to be like everyone else. ------- NOTE: There are possible trigger warnings in this novel e.g. suicidal thoughts. *TW: depression, death, suicide Death is never the best option. Things do get better, I promise. If you are considering such things, please seek help. You are loved and needed; there are always other options. ******** As if witnessing his best friend's kidnapping wasn't enough, James has to battle the grief and depression that follows it. Stella was his rock and one of the most important people to him. Without her, he watches his world crumble before his eyes. He's done everything he can to get her back, but with his depression growing ever heavier, he begins to feel that she is gone for ever. Will James ever see Stella again, or has he lost her for good? ******** I originally wrote this short story as a single piece, but I broke it up into chapters as best I could. This story means a lot to me, so I really hope you like it. :)
