Five years after monsters have surfaced, the world continues as if nothing has happened. Sure there's the occasional racist mob of angry humans and the random riot. But for the most part, it's all good. You are particularly happy with the little life you've set up for yourself on the outskirts of Ebott City. You have a job, a house, and a s̶h̶i̶t̶t̶y̶ awesome roommate. But things begin to spiral when your 'awesome roommate' brings home a new boyfriend. A particularly boney boyfriend. And thus starts the domestic war of a hard-working college graduate and a good-for-nothing skeleton, who just can't seem to keep his mouth shut.
