The news had been aired every day for a week, and Taehyung can't help but be more sarcastic with every opinion on the topic. A topic, not one where a friend confronts you for spilling their secret to their family, no. A topic where if the wrong thing comes out, the whole world would realize that they've been mourning in vein. Where Taehyung knows that his Gguk is really alive; that he faked his death.
Why?
That is a question Taehyung has been asking himself ever since he witnessed Jeongguk walking from the morgue, in disguise.
Jeongguk had been "dead" on arrival. He hates that he did this, but for those he cares about, he'd do it again. To protect. If his secret was ever uncovered, he doesn't think that anyone would or could possibly understand. Every time he doubts, questions, or hesitates, he repeats the same two-worded phrase: "To protect".
