Trying not to get caught they run into a man who Jenny soon learns is Serenas ex boyfriend they decide to trust him with the Beetle and soon learns it was a bad idea As the young man grapples with his newfound powers, Jenny and Serena try to help him understand and possibly remove the beetle, fearing the dangers it might bring. During this time, Serena finds herself falling in love with him, Again. complicating the situation further. The story reaches a climax when Serena must confront her own feelings and take a stand against their aunt Victoria, who is determined to reclaim the beetle and complete her project, no matter the cost. Serena's love and determination ultimately lead her to save the young man from her aunt's dangerous obsession.
